My practice is concentrated on trust and estate planning, probate, and small business advisory services. I provide individuals and families with comprehensive and compassionate estate planning services, including the preparation of various estate planning documents, strategies to reduce or eliminate estate tax liability, and recommendations regarding asset titling, life insurance, and beneficiary designations. I also oversee the administration of decedent’s estates from the initial filing of the probate petition to the final distribution of assets to beneficiaries. Finally, I assist new and existing small business owners by preparing the requisite documents to form or modify their corporate structure, drafting and negotiating agreements to protect against the disclosure of information, and planning for changes in ownership of their businesses under various circumstances.
To serve my clients' legal needs outside of the practice areas described above, I have established an "of counsel" relationship with the law firm of Alperstein & Diener, P.A., in downtown Baltimore. The attorneys at Alperstein & Diener, P.A., have extensive experience handling a broad range of legal matters including, but not limited to, automobile accidents, motor vehicle or drunk driving offenses, criminal matters, landlord/tenant disputes, worker’s compensation, and domestic relations.
I am a member of the Estates and Trusts and Elder Law Sections of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Estates and Trusts Committee of the Baltimore County Bar Association. I also participate in the Estate and Gift Tax Study Group of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Planned Giving Roundtable of the Associated. I volunteer for the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service, Jewish Legal Services, and special projects of the Maryland State Bar Association. I have lectured on estate planning to diverse audiences, appeared on public radio, and been published in magazines.
Prior to opening my own practice, I worked as a senior attorney in the Division of Enforcement of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. I graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 1995, and am admitted to practice in Maryland. I received my bachelor’s degree in Public Policy Studies from Duke University in 1992. |
